In this paper, amino acids and trace elements in 3 species of Prunella were analysed. The results showed that all the 3 species contain nearly the same amino acids and trace elements, but the quintity is different slightly. Content of Zn, As, Sr in P. hispida a little higher than that in the others, and the total free amino acids in P. osiallr is the highest. Connection with the references to scientific information, P. hispida and P. asiatic can be recommended as rational resources of  "Xia-Ku-Cao".
