Cephalotaxus mannii Hook.f. contains harringtonine and homoharringtonine which have the effect of antitumouri. On the Hainan island, it distributes in the mountain rain forest (altitude of 700-1 100 m).The regeneration of population has been destroyed seriously by unrational utilization and the degradation of habitats. It is passible to reproduct this plant by its seed, cutting and sprouting. The in situ and ex situ conservations should been urgently promoted in order to protect and develope this resource.
