The contents of orientin and vitexin in the seeds of Trigonella foenum-graecum L.from four production localities were
determined by HPLC for the first time. The contents of orientin and vitexin from Jiangsu are the highest which is 0.025 9% and 0 .018 4% respectively. Contents of the other three production localities, Anhui, Shaanxi and Ningxia are 0 .014 8% and 0 .004 4%, 0.008 9 % and 0.002 9 %, 0.017 6% and 0.008 9% respectively.
