Chemical constituents of the volatile oil from Calophyllum inophyllum Linn.

Abstract

The volatile oil of Calophyllum inophyllum Linn. in twigs was extracted with the steam distillation and analysed by GC-MS. Twenty-six compounds were characterized. The major constituents were identified as δ-amorphene (14.63%), β-caryophyllene(13.13%), γ-cadinene(10.22%), α-caryophyllene (8.87%), α-farnesene(7.80%), etc.
